Whether I would want to live here in the summer is doubtful. I think it would be too hot for us. However 6 months is perfect. Most days by lunch time it has reached 20 degrees or more, blue skies and a light breeze. The sunshine is good for lifting your spirits and warming your bones! We have chosen to live on the coast, which is beautiful. The people are friendly, it does help to learn some Spanish and is respectful to the local people, it also makes shopping easier. From the experience of fracturing my leg and other expat neighbours experiences I can say the medical treatment here is excellent. The roads, certainly in wintertime are almost free of traffic especially in the afternoons, no queues. Motor ways link the towns in a network system that aids travel. If you are wondering about bringing an English car, the journey from Bilbao is relatively easy with a sat nav. and my partner is happy to drive a right hand drive car here. To purchase cars here seems expensive as are electrical goods. Obviously there are many warmer countries to visit, we chose Spain after several visits and bought a house here; prices are just starting to rise, but there is plenty of choice, if you are contemplating a move.
